L GALLERY presents *From Rose*, Jamsan’s first solo exhibition outside Korea and his first solo presentation in Taiwan, organized in collaboration with Meistay Gallery and COLLAST.

A girl stands somewhere between a distant star and a place that feels strangely familiar. Around her, roses bloom, paths open and disappear, and small encounters accumulate without resolving into a single story. Jamsan’s images often begin from this kind of suspended moment—part fairy tale, part memory, and part emotional landscape.

At the center of *From Rose* is a girl imagined as a rose blooming alone on a distant star. She moves through unfamiliar places, sometimes wandering, sometimes embracing what appears before her, yet continuing with a quiet persistence. The rose carries both fragility and endurance: something easily damaged, yet capable of blooming again.

Jamsan has long used symbolic figures and imagined landscapes to give form to feelings that are difficult to articulate directly. Loneliness, affection, loss, and comfort do not appear as explicit narratives, but as atmospheres embedded in color, distance, gesture, and recurring motifs. The fairy-tale quality of his work is therefore less an escape from reality than a way of approaching it from another angle.

This sensibility also underlies the visual worlds he has developed as a concept artist for Korean television dramas. In his independent practice, however, the figures are released from the narratives they once served. They begin to exist on their own, carrying with them only traces of the emotions, relationships, and symbols from which they emerged.

*From Rose* introduces this broader visual language through works that reveal the foundations of Jamsan’s practice: a world where familiar emotions are displaced into imagined scenes, and where a single recurring figure can hold both distance and intimacy at once.

The girl comes from far away, but she does not remain foreign for long. Somewhere between her world and ours, the distance begins to narrow.
